An auxiliary power unit (APU) is a heavy-duty truck idling management solution. The driver is able to run the APU to power heating and air conditioning systems as well as hotel loads, which include: lighting, TVs, stereos, computers, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, etc. It also provides power for battery charging while the main engine is shut off.

An APU such as the Cummins ComfortGuard APU system provides a great answer for all of these idling management needs. As a complete system, the Cummins ComfortGuard APU system incorporates auxiliary power with heating and air conditioning all in one easy installation.
