JuiceBox FAQs

Can the JuiceBox generator be operated while I am driving?
No. The JuiceBox system requires fuel to be stored safely, in compliance with DOT regulations. Only operate the JuiceBox generator when the RV is stationary.

What fuel is required to operate the JuiceBox generator?
JuiceBox models are available as either a gasoline generator or a propane (LP) generator. A 6 gallon. gas tank or quick-connect LP regulator with hose is provided.

What is the range of the Energy Command wireless remote?
It has a 50’ range assuming no significant obstructions between operator and generator.

Why does the JuiceBox have a telescoping frame?
It allows the user to slide the JuiceBox assembly 20” away from the vehicle to drop the pickup tailgate or open the rear doors of vans and SUVs.

Will the plastic cover crack in cold weather?
No. The 0.22-inch-thick ABS plastic is similar to automotive fascia trim. It will resist temperature extremes, minor impact and solar exposure without failure.

Is the JuiceBox assembly stable during operation and travel?
Extensive structural research and field test evaluations have verified the integrity of the JuiceBox assembly to resist G-forces, vibrations and its own leveraged weight. The frame is designed to flex, so rough roads, abrupt turns, and sudden stops will not cause damage.

Will the genset operate with the cover closed?
Yes. In fact, the system is designed to operate with the cover closed. Operation is cooler and quieter with the cover closed. Shore cord and fuel line hatches allow easy access to internal hook ups.

How do I store the JuiceBox?
Use the landing gear to lift and support the JuiceBox system from or onto a vehicle. Caster wheels allow the JuiceBox to be rolled into storage or to another vehicle for attachment.

What routine maintenance do I need to perform with the JuiceBox generator?
As with all Cummins Onan generators sets, regular oil changes and exercise at prescribed intervals assure minimal problems with fuel varnishing. Check the battery for proper fluid levels. Keep the exterior and ventilation pathways clean. Read and follow the user manuals.

Is exhaust gas a concern when using the JuiceBox generator?
Just like any internal combustion engine, while the JuiceBox is vented and externally mounted, it does produce lethal carbon monoxide. Therefore, read, understand, and follow all instructions provided with the JuiceBox assembly. Always use a carbon monoxide alarm in your RV. Do not operate any generator inside any building.

How do I prevent damage from steep driveways?
The angle of departure is maximized by the raised deck of the JuiceBox. The centerline of the hitch inlet must be more than 11” above a level street. Consult a professional hitch installer to minimize potential damage from driving up sharp angles.

How do I order the JuiceBox?
