"Thanks for the memories" - Steve and Sharon, Tennessee, USA
Our Cummins Onan 12.5 kW QD is very quite but it sounds like freedom to us. In Sept of 2010, we were traveling through the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming in the motorhome that serves as our home. We reached the summit on US hwy 16 at about 5 in the afternoon.

When it comes to harsh conditions, few are probably as harsh as South Florida. Rain, heat and humidity are a daily occurrence. I use my Onan Marquis Gold 7000's in my motorhomes for sometimes 20 hours a day! It just has the reliability I need to run my Mobile Dressing Room business...

We use our coach as a mobile studio for webcasting drag racing events across the US and in southern Canada. Very few tracks, if any, have shore power that will run all of our equipment (computers, video gear, satellite system and cameras) and 2 air conditioners at once.

My story is of a personal nature, it starts when I bought a Motorhome. It came with a Generac and worked for a few years then quit. Since I am an Electronic Technologist, I repaired it myself. It required a rewind of the Alternator. I reinstalled it and it lasted for one more year and this time..

I use it 12 Months per year... traveling to and from Florida. The Cummins generator is in use many hours while traveling and also when camping in the NY Aderondacks during the summer months. It has never failed me. The only time I had ever had a problem...

There was a wide pull out there with a sign announcing "Powder River Pass, elevation 9700 feet". We shut off the big Cummins, started the Onan and settled in for the evening. We watched a glorious sunset and had a nice dinner. The next morning, we watched the sun rise with our morning coffee and headed down the mountain toward Cody, WY. This was an experience that we would have not been able to enjoy without our Cummins generator. Thanks for the memories Cummins.

When it comes to harsh conditions, few are probably as harsh as South Florida. Rain, heat and humidity are a daily occurrence. I use my Onan Marquis Gold 7000's in my motorhomes for sometimes 20 hours a day! It just has the reliability I need to run my Mobile Dressing Room business in the Production Industry. If my Onan shuts down, then my business shuts down - end of story. In my 11 years of business, with 4 Onan's running in one day, this has only happened a handful of times. That's quite a track record!! Thank you Onan - you feed my family.
"We wouldn't have any other generator" - Mark, Georgia, USA
We use our coach as a mobile studio for webcasting drag racing events across the US and in southern Canada. Very few tracks, if any, have shore power that will run all of our equipment (computers, video gear, satellite system and cameras) and 2 air conditioners at once. Our 7500 watt quiet run diesel does the job effortlessly. We have over 11,300 trouble free hours on the unit and expect it to run for many more. We do our own minor maintenance, oil, fuel and air filter changes. We depend on it 100% for all our power needs while at the track or in transient to and from the work site. It has never failed to start and run! We wouldn't have any other generator but an Onan!
"Routine maintenance is a breeze"- Robert Gauthier, Ontario, Canada
My story is of a personal nature, it starts when I bought a Motorhome. It came with a Generac and worked for a few years then quit. Since I am an Electronic Technologist, I repaired it myself. It required a rewind of the Alternator. I reinstalled it and it lasted for one more year and this time, it was the Voltage Regulator Board that blew. Generac wanted $1000 for this tiny PCB that probably has $25 on components (dipped so it could not be repaired).
I replaced the Generac with a Honda 6000 kVA RV Gen Set and ran fine for two years, two months, then quit! After troubleshooting, I found it was the Stator Field — Honda wants $1000 for the part and would not consider it warranty since it happened two months after the warranty ended! Also, they wanted to charge $800 to remove the unit just to examine it. Researching, I have found out that Honda has a defective Control Board design, which causes this problem. It is no wonder they have gotten out of the RV market and have discontinued making RV Generators. There is actually a website dedicated to the problems with this model!!
Finally last year, I did what I should have done in the first place — I purchased a Cummins Onan RV Generator. It is the quietest generator we have ever used. The comparison to the two others shows you are a company with quality in mind. All the connectors on my Onan are weather resistance type, even though they are concealed inside the enclosure — the other generators mentioned above use "Molex"interiors types, which are (in my experience) notorious for oxidizing and having intermittent connections. Onan makes a generator so routine maintenance is a breeze. Any generator I purchase in the future will be a Cummins!

I use it 12 Months per year... traveling to and from Florida. The Cummins generator is in use many hours while traveling and also when camping in the NY Aderondacks during the summer months. It has never failed me. The only time I had ever had a problem, was when it was new in 2006, there was a re-call on the fuel filter. After Cummins did the recall it was perfect and I have never had another problem. All that's required of me is to do regular maintenance and exercise.
